Simply put, Shane Hamman is the greatest American Olympic lifter ever. Hamman is the American Record holder in the 105+kg class in the Clean & Jerk (237.5kg), Snatch (197.5kg) and Total (430kg). In addition to his Olympic lifting prowess and two appearances on the Olympic team, Hamman is also the IPF World Record holder in the squat with 457.7kg (1008 pounds), a record that has stood since 1996!! Hamman is arguably the most successful powerlifting to Olympic lifting crossover athlete in history.
